Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin needles into specific body points to relieve pain and improve health and well-being. Originating in China over 2,000 years ago, acupuncture found its way to the United States about 60 years ago, and was viewed with great curiosity. Over time the curiosity wore off and acupuncture proved itself to be an effective option for better health and pain relief, and has grown significantly in popularity.

Our American practice of acupuncture draws on traditions from countries like China, Japan, and Korea, and involves putting hair-thin metallic needles in a patient's skin. The needles assist and stimulate the body in providing pain-killing chemicals that also regulate blood pressure and flow.

There are many excellent acupuncture training programs available to practitioners. Numerous chiropractors and chiropractic clinics offer acupuncture to their patients with exceptional results.
